A Website that Let's You See the World from an Author's Eyes!

Anna Quindlen, an American journalist and opinion columnist whose New York Times column, Public and Private, won the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 1992, has quoted about "reading books" as:

“Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey. They are home.”

Well this post is about promoting one of my favorite "bookish" website. No, no it's not Goodreads or BookLikes. It's called- TripFiction. Sounds cool, isn't it?

Let's Get Personal With TripFiction:

TripFiction features novels set in over 1,000 cities and countries from around the world. Yeah, it's a database featuring those novels which are set in a particular place, say Paris, Venice, India, etc!

Moreover, it not only acts like a database, but there's also a My Account section which allows it's users to write a review and add a book on their database. Sounds more like a give-and-take policy! Yeah right!! TripFiction also takes information about any book set in a particular location from it's users.

They even have a Blog where they feature their upcoming reads, or author interviews, tidbits, sometimes giveaways.

And there's another section called Discussion Board, where you can start a new thread on any topic mostly about travel and books and giveaways. This board sometimes features great opportunities for wanna-be writers.

Then there's the Find a Book section, where you just need to type a location name, say the name of your city, and hit the Search button! Voila! The page will redirect you to another page which will surprise you with hundreds of thousands books based on your favorite destination or maybe your city.

"I Don't want to sign-up on TripFiction, but the website's very cool! So I just want some monthly info on the website. Is it possible?"

Absolutely, TripFiction has started their newsletter service, where the users who don't want to sign-up to be a part of TripFiction but wants to be kept in loop about all the inside info of TripFiction, then they can easily sign-up for the newsletter with their name and email id.

"That sounds like a paid website service."

No, the best perk of TripFiction is that it's absolutely FREE. Anybody can sign-up and be a part of TripFiction family.

TripFiction is a big fan of reviewers.

That was one of the reasons why I joined TripFiction on the first place. They will provide you with your favorite book from a given list of available books-to-be-reviewed for free and in return you need to upload the review on their website.

Top Ten Lists Featuring Almost Every Country in the World.

Yes, every now and then, TripFiction uploads a top 10 books based on a particular location, say Berlin or Australia or China..
And this list of books are very apt. In fact those books completely represent the spirit of that particular destination.

TripFiction can be your best Travel Guide.

Because TripFiction is the store-house of all kinds of books that will enlighten you about your next big trip to California or Thailand! Feed Back on the Website:

Trust me on this when it's coming from a software techie like me that the website is very neat, and the look-and-feel of the whole website is very sober and with that white and green color combination, it doesn't strain upon your eyes while reading the texts. Moreover, the speed of the website is quite great! Fast comment approval service! Very well organized and the website is updated almost every single day!

What about the PEOPLE behind TripFicton?

Yes, yes they are absolutely brilliant, very warm and always ready to address your issues, queries and even ready for a quick chat over books! They are the most friendly team of people that I have ever met! Always on their feet to serve their users better! I even made one of them as my friend. Her name's Tina Hartas. She is my lovely book-buddy!

So what are you waiting for?! Go to www.tripfiction.com Join TripFiction and get ready to travel the world along with TripFiction!

I'd like to wrap up this post on Roald Dahl's remarkable quote:

“The books transported her into new worlds and introduced her to amazing people who lived exciting lives. She went on olden-day sailing ships with Joseph Conrad. She went to Africa with Ernest Hemingway and to India with Rudyard Kipling. She travelled all over the world while sitting in her little room in an English village.”

Thank You TripFiction for showing me the whole world with the author's eyes!
Happy Journey! :-)
